To Micro Chip or Not????

I haven't quite decided how I feel about Micro Chips. I feel like our dogs are pretty well sheltered from the idea of running off or escaping...at least for right now. But I wanted to share this quick little story because it definitely makes me think twice.

Yesterday at the Shelter there was this sweet little Schnauzer mix type dog that was just a shaking when I got there. I picked this dog for Mom to walk first because I knew he would be an easy walked and deserved so good love and one on one time. Mom just loved him too!!! 


Then today on facebook I saw this:

This is Sylvester.
He showed up as a stray & luckily he had a microchip. After a quick scan and a phone call -- he was reunited with his Mom yesterday. (His Mom told us he had been missing since January 15th) It was a very happy reunion filled with many kisses! 




What an amazing reunion thanks to Micro chips. I am sure as our living situation changes I will keep this in the back of my mind. I would never want something like this to happen to one of my pups and me not have this option as a reuniting link.
