Clean Pups

Our sweet babies were long over due for a bath. So today after a long walk and a little play time in the creek they got baths. Since Daddy wasn't home they got to dry off on their beds in the Living Room :-) They were so sweet and smelled so good. Wish Bath time was easier on Mom...it would probably happen more often.

First Pool Day of The Year!!!

Right now I don't have an SUV so taking my pups anywhere = getting some help from James or Mom with Larry's Car. But today I really, really, really wanted them to get to have a fun day and play.

So after the shelter I ran home and met James and we hopped in the van. Normally, this would be an easy task, but today James had a bed in the back of his truck that he was transporting. So....Billy and I shared the front seat while Bailey's butt was in the floor board and her front legs were hanging on me...it was a tad crowded...but totally worth it!!!!

They love trips to Nana's House!!!!!

Lucky Penny!!!!

This Sweet Baby has a horrible past. Her original owner's method of birth control was to shoot her in the head. He missed- barely- and the bullet just grazed her skull. He decided the humane thing to do was turn, this pregnant, shot in the head dog, into a local high-kill pound. A beagle SAP pulled her, she had 4 puppies (all of which were adopted), and then Penny made her way to NHA so she could find a great home. She is such a wonderful dog!!!

Penny's story then only got better she got spotlighted on March 30th on Channel 4's More At Midday and then she was adopted!!!!!

This is Penny with her new Dad Joe and her new name is Lucky...cause she is one Lucky girl!!!

Another Tag Team Day At The Shelter!

This Friday I was happy to find out that Ashley wanted to join me at the shelter again. Its nice having her there to help and knowing that she loves those pups and the time she gets to spend with them like I do. It allows me to spend better face time with the pups I take outside, instead of running down the line up as fast as possible just to get everyone out. Having Ashley allows me to feel good about the time I am spending with the pups that I see.

new Daddy came into get her. He walked her before
they left, but I did get to say goodbye to her and
tell her how happy I was for her :-)

In the middle of my time there I took some time to help a sweet young girl with two pups, Athena & Rhea. It was really nice to take a break and play with puppies. It really reminded me of how much work they are tho.

I love this big fur ball. He is huge and gentle...

but can definitely know you off your balance

All Night Long!!!

So, When I heard that Lionel Richie was releasing a new CD I was super excited. Then when I found out it was all of his original songs redone with country artists...I was super excited. Finally, it has been released and I have a copy! I think it is fun and good. I think you definitely have to want to enjoy it to like it...but I recommend it!!!!

Fun Friday Shelter Friend Day!!!!

Today was a little bit different day at the shelter...but it was a great day! A neighbor of mine named Ashley has a little Lhasa Shih Tzu mixed named Chloe and we have met a few times and she is just really sweet. Her Dad is a Vet in Alabama and she was really sweet when Billy was sick. Anyway, she had expressed interest in going to the shelter so I told her we could meet there and I would show her what it was all about.

I wasn't sure about the weather but other than one little shower we really lucked out. It was nice having here there to help me and I think she really had a good time. I had her start with some small dogs but by the time we left she had walked the biggest strongest dog there, Whiskey and loved him! She was a total trooper we were there for just about two hours and I think she loved it as much as me. It was just great.
