To The River We Go

So this past Friday was Billy and Bailey's first trip to the river together and Bailey's first real experience with water. I was anxious to see how she would do. I wish I had a life jacket for her, the water was so much higher than I expected, but she really wasn't that interested. I think it would have been better if the water had been lower and I could have walked her into the water. But, she had so much fun running around crazy and hunting and eating grass. She was so funny about watching Billy hunt in the water and not understand what he was doing. The few times she really got in the water she didn't mean to and hopped out as fast as she could and would attacked Billy. They chased each other around like crazy and just loved being out in the country. I wish I had gotten better pictures but I was having trouble hanging on to her leash and getting good picts and making sure she was ok. Next time will be better!

PawPaw went with us...we try to do fun stuff with him when the weather is nice. Billy loves him and Bailey is learning how great he is so overall it was a really fun trip. The other element that added some difficulty to our trip was my new car. The dogs are still learning how to stay in the very back and enjoy the ride back there. Bailey slipped through the barrier and PawPaw had to hold her the entire way to the river and she escaped on the way back too and he had to hold her again, all wet and muddy. What made this even worse was Billy was mad about it. He barked the entire ride. Usually once he smells the river he acts nuts but he went crazy the entire trip. Even I wanted a muzzle for him! So we survived our first trip and we will definitely make another one and do it bigger and better!
