Happy Memorial Day!!!! Lake Day #1 2011

For Memorial Day we made a trip out to the lake! It was our first trip for the year...and that water was still a bit CHILLY!!!!! Thanks Jay and Cheryl for a great day!

Counting Down 10-9-8

I can't believe that Summer is really here and that CMA Fest is just around the corner! I can't wait to sweat my butt off and hear some great music!!!!

This year is gonna be fun but different. We have James' parents Mark and Mary coming in from CA and staying with us and they have 4 day passes. Then I have Anthony coming in from Ohio and he is bring Jake & Abby and Dianne!!!! I wish they were staying a bit longer cause I know I wont get too much time with them with all the craziness. Anthony has the pass to go to all of the day shows and then 2 of the night shows. Those 2 nights that he has a pass so does my Dad :-) And then the other 2 nights Mom and Larry have a night pass.

It will be crazy and hot and exhausting...but oh so much fun...Can't Wait!!!!!

Pasta/Wine Party for BDF

May 21st I planned for a Fundraiser Party to help Billy and I close out our fundraising and say thank you to all who have helped us! Lots couldn't attend due to other events and commitments, but for all that were able to be there it was a really nice night.

James made some incredible food and it was an overall great night...AND we raised some more $ to help our team and The Brown Dog Foundation.

Thank you to all who donated and that you for all that attended!!!

Fun Filled Friday

Fridays are typically my sleep in, clean the house, spend the day with the pups, wait for James to come home days. This Friday was quite busy!!!!

I didn't get to go back to sleep when James left so 8am I finally climbed out a bed reluctantly. Headed to Krogers & Costco and back home to organize the food for my Fundraiser Party. I started working on the dessert and trying to keep the house in decent shape.

Meanwhile these wonderful tickets arrived!!!! :-)

Then I decided the pups needed a little treat and
I took them to the river for some great play time.

On our way home from that Nana aka Mom called and said why don't you bring the pups for a swim...so to the house for a regrouping we went and then off to Nana's.

After some visiting and swimming we were getting ready to head back...but Larry insisted that we stay and called James and insisted that he come for a drink.

A drink turned into drinks...which turned into dinner with more drinks...which lead to a stop at The Local Taco for Margaritas...which all lead to the four of us...four legged friends included having a sleep over at Nana's.

A Very Fun Day and A Very Fun Night!!!!

Lyrics of The Wk #7 Voices

Vocies - Chris Young

You could say I'm a little bit crazy
You could call me insane
Walkin' 'round with all these whispers
Runnin' 'round here in my brain
I just can't help but hear 'em
Man, I can't avoid itI hear voices
I hear voices like

My dad sayin' work that job
But don't work your life away
Mama tellin' me to drop some cash
In the offering plate on Sunday
And granddad sayin' you can have a few
But don't ever cross that lineY
eah I hear voices all the time

Turns out I'm pretty dang lucky
For all that good advice
Those hard to find words of wisdom
Holed up here in my mind
And just when I've lost my way
Or I got to many choices
I hear voices

I hear voices like
My dad sayin' quit the team
And you'll be a quitter for the rest of your life
Mama tellin' me to say a prayer
Every time I lay down at night
And grandma sayin' if you find the one
You'd better treat her right
Yeah, I hear voices all the time

Sometimes I try to ignore 'em
But I thank God for 'em
'Cause they made me who I am

My dad sayin' work that job
But don't work your life away
Mama tellin' me to drop some cash
In the offering plate on Sunday
And granddad sayin' you can have a few
But don't ever cross that line
Yeah I hear voices all the time
Yeah I hear voices all the time
All the time

Fundraiser Update

Billy and I are doing great with our fundraiser. This has really been something that has been fun to work on. Its not easy asking for money, but it does make it a lot easier when you really believe in what you are asking money for. The Brown Dog Foundation is something that I think is a wonderful cause and I am happy to support.

There are 24 days left for us and we still have a dinner party we hope to rake in a bunch of $$$ at.
Right now we are at $560 still in second place, but not by much. Mojo is at $600. I am really hoping to pull into the lead and stay there...wish us luck!!!!

Lyrics of The Wk #6 The House That Built Me

The House That Built Me - Miranda Lambert

I know they say you cant go home again
I just had to come back one last time
Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam
But these handprints on the front steps are mine
And up those stairs, in that little back bedroom
Is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar
And I bet you didn't know under that live oak
My favorite dog is buried in the yard

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
This brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here its like i'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I could just come in I swear i'll leave
Won't take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me.

Mama cut out pictures of houses for years
From Better Homes and Garden magazines
Plans were drawn, concrete poured,
And nail by nail and board by board
Daddy gave life to mama's dream

I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
This brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here its like i'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I could just come in I swear i'll leave
Won't take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me

You leave home, you move on
And you do the best you can
I got lost in this whole world and forgot who I am
I thought if I could touch this place or feel it
this brokenness inside me might start healing
Out here its like i'm someone else,
I thought that maybe I could find myself
If I could walk around I swear i'll leave
Won't take nothing but a memory
From the house that built me

Crawlfish Boil!

Saturday Tracy and Cathey had a Crawfish Boil. Last year we didn't go cause of the rain/flood. This year James was in Cali but I still decided to go. It was fun...not as big of a bash as everyone was hoping, but I was glad I went. Their property and home is so beautiful!
