A New Volunteer Opp on A Sunday

Today, I got to participate in a totally different side of volunteering at the shelter. I helped our Volunteer Organizer, Ceclia run a training class. My job was to explain the roles of dog walker and puppy socializer and show them all the ropes.  It was a really cool learning experience. I was happy to work with each of them and so happy to see new volunteers.

If you haven’t donated some of your time at a shelter near you…you definitely should!!!!

A Morning with The Girls

I had a very abnormal Saturday morning. I got to meet two old girl friends for breakfast. This never never ever happens. One, I don't really stay in touch with many girl friends for one and two getting together with them and making our plans work is really abnormal. But, Kristin and Meredith and I met at Bread & Co. and it was great.

I hadn't seen either of them in awhile and it was great to catch up. Kristin just had her 2nd baby boy eight weeks ago and Meredith is also engaged and getting married the day after me.

I am very thankful for these girls. They were a huge part of my life for many years.

A Sweaty Shoot

Yesterday was an extremely hot day! And of course it was the day of our engagement pictures. We had all of our stuff ready…all four coordinating outfits…dogs and all.  When we got to Downtown Franklin 20 mins late…I thought this is not gonna be good. However, we got our preview this morning and I think we are going to be very happy!!!! Thank you Rachel Smith!!!!

Another Hot Friday!!!!

Today I was so happy to have another “lucky me” Friday at the shelter.

This morning I grabbed a sweet boy with a messy kennel first, Bernard. He was so sweet yet so crazy. He loved jumping and climbing on all the benches…not to cuddle…just to play.

Then I grabbed Johnny who I knew was crazy silly, but actually calmed down so much once we got going.

Then I grabbed oh so sweet Brownie who I love. He is so sweet and just wants love and a belly rub. Totally clueless as to how he is still here.

Then I grabbed a knew to me black girl named Chiba. She was really sweet and was completely into the outdoors.

Then I went down the line and grabbed Cabo. He is so sweet and he just wants to be in your face and give you kisses. He is really, really sweet.

Then I grabbed another sweet black baby, Baleigh. She was really sweet and I got a kick out of talking to her and using her name, it was funny to me.

Then I made sure I got Dixie. She is so cute and so nuts and crazy but I love her anyway. I think he eyes are so pretty.

Then I grabbed a oh so sweet girl named Ruthie who I loved she was really sweet.

Then I moved on to Romeo, who is now one of my most favorites. We just sat on a bench and he sat at my feet. We totally didn’t want to get up…the breeze was perfect.

Then to finish the day I grabbed Jack Flash…who has been there too long as well. We had a good ol time too.

Before leaving I stopped by to visit Hank and decided to give him some outside time too. One of the staff members had a young girl out named Lucky and she was running free. Her and Hank got some really good play time in. It was so cute. It was nice to see how much the staff really do care about these animals.

It was another great day at the shelter

An Oh So Early Morning

This morning I got up at 6:30am and made it to the shelter by 7am for a little extra volunteering. They needed some help with getting Teddy's Wagon loaded for the Pride Festival today. I have been wanting to train to go with Teddy's Wagon to an Event, but it just hasn't worked out with my schedule. So, when this opportunity arose I really wanted to get involved to learn a little more. I really had no idea what I was in for...so when I got there and saw Pat...a fellow volunteer I was glad she was there and was familiar with the process.

Everyone involved was so nice and I loved being able to help out. It made me so happy to see those pups so early in the morning and help them get their kennels clean from the night before. I was so happy to be a small part of Teddy's Wagon. I am hopeful that soon I will have an open schedule where I can train and get to be part of one of the events all day long and help some babies get adopted.

This is suppose to be one of the most successful events for adoptions. Let's Go Teddy's Wagon!!!!!

Girls Night Out!!!!

Friday night, my BFF Tracy had her Bachelorette Party, thrown by her sis Allie. We all met at the house for some games and fun and gifts...then Mexican and then Midtown for a few.
So happy for Tracy...can't believe the wedding is only 2 weeks away!!!!
