Lyrics of The Wk #14 Journey of Your Life

The Journey of Your Life - Jake Owen

He was old school and overalls
Tough as nails as i recall
Fought a war and came back home
Honest as the day was long
Right before my grandpa died he looked me right straight in the eyes
Said here's some words to get you by
Ro help you on the journey of your life

You'll need a hero
And a good dog
Especially a good dog
A hammer and a handsaw
A bandaid now and then
You'll need a home to come home to
Son we all need a refuge
On the straight and narrow path
You need to learn to bend
Get a good square keep it level
Have grace to face the devil
You need an angel flying by your side
On the journey of you

Ride the wind 'til we meet again
On the other side of life
You'll need some good luck and a Bible
Especially a Bible
A lot of faith in god above
And a woman you can love
You'll need a good song that you can sing on
And a shoulder you and lean on
And you gotta draw the line sometimes when push comes to shove
You'll need to lose some to be a winner
And have courage to surrender
Laugh a lot and keep it light
On the journey of your life

And no matter what dreams you're chasing
Never get above your raising
May the simple things be amazing
On the journey of your life

He said I'll be an angel flying by your side
On the journey of your life

BBQ

This weekend was Nashville's BBQ Festival. I always love going to this even because there is good food and live music and its at Riverfront. And I am always happy to be listening to any kind of live music outside.

This year...James was able to go (no more working nights) so Mom and Larry and James and I all went. The food was great...the beer was good and the 2 tribute bands were great. The Wanna Beetles and 7 Bridges. I was excited about seeing The Marshall Tucker Band...but they didn't sound good at all and were pretty much a disappointment :-( But overall it was a fun night!!!!

River Time With Daddy

We took Daddy to our new River Spot and had so much fun!!!

Love this picture of them doing their thing out in nature.

Work

Lately work is feeling a lot like work :-( Guess that happens to the best of us. I am definitely looking forward to the long weekend coming up and a break from that place. Some times change is good some times change is bad...but sometimes its just what we need when we don't even know it. Lots of changes going on a work. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Wish me luck!!!!

Giving Just Makes You Feel Good

Over the past few weeks I collected and purchased some items to give to a local shelter. I found them through facebook and just was really compelled to collect items to help the sweet babies at Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary in Hendersonville, TN. I had so much fun purchasing...money donations are always appreciated by shelters...but some times purchasing fun items just makes you feel good. :-)

(last minute purchase at pet smart to add to our collection)
Please remember our local volunteer shelters and help when you can.
Those sweet babies need us all!!!!

Purchases

I'm not a big shopper really...I hate the mall...yes hate it!!! I prefer to shop online or in the exterior stores...TJ Maxx, Target, Ross, Marshalls, Old Navy...ya know. But one of my most favorite purchases are things for my dogs. Fun purchases and necessary purchases...anything but food or meds. Treats are fun, but food and meds are costly and no fun.

The other day I bought them a double leash where they can walk together and I LOVE IT!!! They are doing great on it and I am so happy with how well they have adjusted to it. For them its like nothing has even changed. Its a tad challenging when one is doing their business and making sure the other one doesn't pull them during the process, but it is definitely a lot easier than before.

If you have 2 dogs I recommend this and especially if they are bigger dogs...GREAT Purchase!!!!

We Found A New River Spot

A Few River Days

One of my most favorite things to do with my sweet pups is take them to do things that they love...and water they love!!!! Pool water, river water, lake water, creek water, ocean water, hose water...all of it is fun fun fun to them.

This Friday day my Dad, their PawPaw said he would make a trip to the river with us. It is always more fun when someone goes with us...cause it is safer for me and gives me someone to talk to. We usually go to a spot right by our house off of McCory Lane, but this day I wanted to try a new spot I had been eyeing that was just as close, at Newsome Mill. It was great the babies loved it and there was a perfect spot for the humans to sit and visit too. Unfortunately, and very uncharacteristic of me, I forgot to take my camera. However, we loved the spot so much that just the 3Bs returned on Sunday...this time to have fun and get some great pictures!!!!

PICTURES TO BE POSTED

Thanks PawPaw for exploring a new spot with us...we love river trips with you!!!!

Yard Time

Today I spent some time in the yard with the babies...playing with toys and water and just having fun. This particular day Billy was being so silly! He was barking and pouncing at nothing and just having a good time. It was great. He was so puppy like!!!!

Love this boy and love that big ol tongue!

Bailey had plenty of fun too!!!!
She even found a ball that turned out to be quite yummy!!!!
