The Search Begins...
Yesterday was a really rough long day. House hunting is stressful enough but when your day starts out like ours did...it is just really hard to come out of the rut. We started out getting woke up early by squirrels and birds...then Bailey scratched James' eye lid which brought on some drama. Then we had to de-dog our house where our landlord could show it with the impression that dogs didn't live there. I mean all dog toys, all treats, all bowls, all beds, all fences, all dogs out!!!! Then we finally headed out to Hermitage to return the tables I used for my sale and then began our search. I had a list of about 8 house to drive by, a few in Hermitage area and then a few out further West. Everything we saw was a complete disappointment. Either the house was trashy or the neighborhood was horrible or both. It was so discouraging and so frustrating and just didn't help the negative mood. We finally made our way downtown to take a break, grab a bite to eat and watch some of the Titan's game. After a good lunch at Bricktops we headed thru Sylvan Park for a minute...but still nothing! So we headed out to Riverwalk off of McCrory Lane. It had been awhile since I had been back there but I felt like James would like the feel of the neighborhood and he did! We quickly saw a few for lease signs, which really felt good. We made a few phone calls and got some call backs. A few of the houses were bigger than we needed so they were out of our price range, but overall it was still much more encouraging. But, there was one house that we both really liked from the outside that had an incredible fenced in yard. There was a for sale sign and a lease sign in the yard. James made the call, but no call back. :-( We made our way through the entire neighborhood and with still no call back we then headed to Mom's to pick up the babies. After that we headed out Old Hickory towards Edmondson to check out a cute house, but it was already taken. The day ended with a more positive note, but the whole process is stressful for me. I just really want to find something that we both like that fits all four of us!!!! But at least we got a good feel for what we like. Later that night we had dinner at Whiskey Kitchen...I hadn't been there before...I really liked it!!!! Good food and cool atmosphere!!!!!
